MEDIUMS: Oil | Acrylic | Graphite | Colored Pencil
SPECIALTY: ✔ Generalist
I am fascinated by details, colour and getting to know a subject intimately and find joy in discovering and portraying the personality and life behind a plant, animal, or place. I’m deeply drawn to nature and domesticated plants and animals, likely because I grew up wandering the forests and fields of my family farm in Northern Canada. I’m drawn to experimenting with different mediums and would love to demonstrate coloured pencil techniques, acrylic and oil painting and can talk about creating and painting relief carvings as well as capturing “the spirit of an animal or place” and taking a step into the world of illustration as an artist.
My commercial art background has allowed me to work with many companies to license or create custom artwork for specific products and I have created many of my own products featuring my artwork and have products in almost every province in Canada. I am happy to build a mentorship program that is specific to each group of artist’s goals – from licensing to choosing which products are right for your artwork to creating and selling those products, creating a beautiful and attractive display at markets, making and selling prints, to honing your artistic voice, technique-specific demonstrations, goal and dream centred discussions, building meaningful connections in the industry, how to transition from one style to another, banishing limiting beliefs, finding inspiration and critiques that are honest but also encouraging and so much more!
