Denise Pahlke

EMERGING ARTIST

Mentored By: Caprice Hogg

Denise is a watercolor artist specializing in landscapes and wildlife. She began painting with watercolor a year and a half ago. Along her artistic journey, Denise has studied under professional artists Scott Swinson and Andrea England through their online courses, refining her skills and expanding her creative vision. In January of 2023, Denise decided to fully embrace her artistic path by joining Mastrius, where she has benefited from mentorship by esteemed artist Ian De Hoog and currently working with Caprice Hogg. These experiences have greatly influenced her development and artistic direction. Denise’s paintings are characterized by a semi-realistic, stylized approach, capturing the essence of her subjects with a unique blend of movement, beauty, stillness, and calm. Her work is heavily influenced by Lawren Harris and A.J. Casson of the Group of Seven, particularly in her depictions of the serene landscapes of Georgian Bay. Denise draws inspiration from her summers spent sailing with her husband and two dogs on Georgian Bay. Whether exploring by paddleboard or dinghy, she finds endless inspiration in the natural beauty and tranquility of these adventures. When not in her home studio, Denise can be found alpine skiing with friends and family , traveling the world or just being in the beautiful outdoors enjoying nature.

Notes: Gratitude- I am grateful for the ability to travel, spend time with those I love, doings the things I love. I am grateful that I am able to paint and share the stunning landscapes and wildlife I enjoy so much.
