Gwen Day

ACCOMPLISHED ARTIST

Mentored By: Gaye Adams and Sheila Davis

Gwen Day, is born and raised in Alberta, since early childhood Gwen has been deeply connected to both an outdoor life and creating art. Her work is known for it’s strong value contrasts and vibrant colours. Painting landscapes in impressionistic style. She is currently a juried in member of Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work has been collected by both individual and corporate clients nationally and internationally.

Notes: I was inspired by the simplicity of this scene on a late fall walk on my family farm here in Alberta. I love the transition between seasons like when we get the first dusting of snow and the remnant of leaves are still on the trees. I have such gratitude in my heart these days for the simple beauty that surrounds us in our everyday life if we slow down and have "eyes to see". These pieces would make a great collection as a diptych (2), triptych 93), quadtych (4) or as a single piece. If they are purchased as one of the groupings mentioned above, I would add over lapping shadows to the next one in the scene to tie them together better, before I ship them.
