Peggie Collins

Peggie Collins is a self-taught artist blessed with amazing influences to guide her. Her artistic grandmother and nurturing mother were two of those key influences. Peggie showed her creativity from very early in her childhood and remembers offbeat but significant events such as loving the collection of colours produced by sharpening her pencil crayons or organizing her play blocks according to colour. This perhaps explains Peggie’s fascination with and playful use of colour in her paintings. After the early and sudden death of her mother, Peggie’s journey of loss and recovery included a desire to honour her mother’s encouragement and belief in her artistic gifts and as a result Peggie immersed herself in painting with instruction from a talented Okanagan artist. Peggie forged ahead from there and has not looked back. Since Peggie retired from her job in 2020, she has worked diligently at developing her artistic skills and also creating her own business selling her art, based in Penticton BC. She feels fortunate to be able to combine her passion for painting and travel and is continually inspired by all the experiences along the way.
