Notes: I build texture in multiple layers with medium such as acrylic paint embedded with a variety of items like dried coffee grounds, old herb seeds, or dried flower petals and leaves. I use as much found recycled materials as possible to further emphasize the usefulness and collaborative beauty of things out of their original context. Collages built on old Christmas or birthday cards and altered images printed on fabric are layered over painted textured backgrounds as a focal point or become part of the background itself.
