MEDIUMS: Textile
SPECIALTY: ✔ Color ✔ Composition ✔ Artistic Process & Mindset

With over 50 years of classroom teaching experience, what I love most is being part of your journey—seeing you embrace what it takes to reach your creative goals. Since opening The Stitchin’ Post in 1974, I’ve stayed true to the vision of creating a welcoming space filled with resources for students and customers alike.

Although I’m retired from daily operations, I’m still closely involved, carefully selecting inventory and leading workshops. One of my favorites is Adventures in Art Quilting, designed as a mentoring experience where you bring a project to develop, and I’m there alongside you every step of the way.

We work together using my unique color vocabulary, design elements, and principles, building a strong foundation for success. It’s anything but boring—the results speak for themselves, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create!

ARTIST STATEMENT

“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit”  Emerson

Recurring themes in my textile art have to do with natural color and configurationsof rocks, trees, grasses, flowers, and the land. As a Central Oregonian all but twelve years of my life the natural beauty around me is a constant inspiration. The studio is my haven where I design intuitively, letting pieces take on a life of their own during the design process. I am fascinated with line, pattern, shape, color, and texture, and how to use these elements to capture the essence of what I see and feel. In this ongoing process exploration is my theme. The joy I experience during the design process keeps me coming back to the studio day after day!
