MEDIUMS: Jewelry | Enamelling
SPECIALTY: ✔ Technique

In the Mastrius community, I look forward to having a prolonged period of working together to develop each person’s studio practice and creating a community of trust and support that will help to drive each participant towards their goals. Members can expect to learn a variety of applicable skills and techniques that they can take directly into their own studio practice of jewelry making and enamelling.

From the basics to more complex jewelry making and enamelling skills, a full spectrum of demonstrations will be provided, specific requests will also be welcomed.

Discussions will cover the practical and conceptual aspects of jewelry and its contemporary setting with its historical background. We’ll also address; how to get the most out of your studio practice, with the consideration that each person’s needs will be different. Let’s open our curiosity and break out our love of jewelry!

My works pull inspiration from landscapes, floral and architectural forms, blending the natural and constructed. Taking fragments from life moments and distilling the essence of these moments to evoke feelings in the viewer, the works stimulate personal associations with objects and environments that spark memories and emotions. I seek for people who view or wear my works to have a memory relationship with the works, as I do. The references for my works, while taken from specific moments in my life are utilized in an ambiguous manner. Intended to evoke memories and emotions.

Technique Demos may include: jewelry fabrication: sawing, soldering, solder set-ups, fabrication layout, wax carving: sculptural and geometric stone setting: bezel, tab, basket, prong, tube settings and variations on each, small scale forging and forming: learn how to move the metal to achieve your desired results through careful forging.
