MEDIUMS: Assemblage Art | Mixed Media SPECIALTY:✔Generalist
I would be happy to work with artists who wish to learn about mixed media collage and assemblage on expanding their knowledge of the history of collage and its place in the art world, technique and materials on a variety of substrates, composition and color.
I would also be happy to discuss topics like how to start showing your art, when are you ready for galleries, types of galleries, outdoor art shows (how to choose and what you need for set up) and general research skills, with beginning or emerging artists working in any media.
I am also happy to (gently and with respect) provide feedback on work and lead group critiques. I have many years of experience I would love to share in any way that’s helpful. I also love to listen and appreciate artists’ experiences and personal journeys. I find that, no matter where we are in our artmaking/career, we all learn a lot from community. Thank you for the opportunity.

In addition to fine art, she has worked as an illustrator, graphic designer, arts event organizer and instructor both in the U.S. and Canada. She has participated in numerous juried exhibitions, both national and internationa,l and her work is in private collections across the worl,d including Canada, the United States, Germany, England, Hungary, Japan, South Africa, and India. She is represented by a number of galleries across Ontario.
“My current work is an exploration of culture and place, both historical and contemporary. I am drawn to the contemporary and mundane overwriting the historical, to street art, graffiti and the detritus of urban neighbourhoods, especially those being reimagined by their occupants. Street artists are often the vanguard of change in urban areas and reflect the cultural flux and zeitgeist of place. The overlay and interplay of imagery, combined with historically and culturally significant architecture, is especially compelling. I use collage to mimic these relationships.
The drift toward entropy that affects everything physical figures largely in my compositions. The work is highly detailed and, in many cases, appears chaotic. My desire is to mimic the struggle to maintain order in a world that is constantly breaking down and changing.
I am attracted both to order descending into chaos and the “new” rising from it. Urban and industrial landscapes in decay and the “unweeded garden” are inspirations. The choice of collage materials reflects this interest. Things that have been left behind (old magazines and newspapers, encyclopedias, user manuals, maps and blue prints) are repurposed, thereby restoring and reinventing their relevance.”
