Course Description

Do you feel like you’re in a rut? Do you feel like you need a breakthrough? This workshop is focused entirely on you. On your artistic journey.

In this 4-week workshop, Linda helps you identify your weaknesses to build the courage to explore and branch out from your normal routines.

Each week, Linda will provide insight on a basic foundational skill, from creating “abstract” foundations to incorporating your own voice.

Through your journey in the workshop, you can expect to discuss the art you have produced, examine your accomplishments, study past and current masters’ work, and grow in your storytelling skills.

You’ll learn:

  • How your connection to your creative process influences the FOUNDATIONAL ELEMENTS of your work
  • How to explore what DRIVES YOU to create
  • How STRONG ABSTRACTS influence the outcome
  • How to explore EDGES
  • Take a deep dive into COMPOSITION to capture EMOTION in your artwork that transcends your viewer

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from an expert who wants to help you gain confidence as an artist and find that breakthrough you’re looking for.

After this workshop, you’ll approach your next creation with freshness. It’s time to GET UNSTUCK, RE-INSPIRED, and MOVING FORWARD again!

Instructor Bio

We’ve all heard the saying, “It takes miles of canvas.” While practice makes perfect, the miles of canvas or years of practice leave out important information vital to your journey. It’s the quality of the art you create, not necessarily the quantity of the work. Don’t get me wrong, You will paint masterpieces, and you’ll paint duds. All of this is our journey.

The important aspects of painting, whether as a hobby, aspiring to become a professional, or enhancing our skills, all require the same technical understanding and skill development. Mastering those will provide confidence, excite you, unlock your voice, and provide the discovery you seek. The artist in you will blossom, and your confidence will soar. Those paintings you painted that just didn’t click will be tackled and converted into paintings full of exploration. Your confidence in addressing the issues that made them duds will escalate your abilities.

Understanding composition, color, color relationships, values, kinship, and basic knowledge to help you design your paintings from the start will make your journey more enjoyable. We will investigate how past masters used composition, values, edges, and color to direct the viewer around their paintings. We’ll discover your strengths and bring attention to areas of improvement. I’ll help you sort through the frustrating times, cheer on your accomplishments, and discover your interests every step along our adventure.
