Course Description

Color and the way paint is applied is an integral part of a painter’s VISUAL LANGUAGE. The marks you make visible also influence how your art is seen, felt, and interpreted.

Explore abstract painting and mark-making using an INTUITIVE APPROACH with Master Artist Cameron Schmitz. She’ll show you how these skills can open new doors, develop a richer painting process, and create a more engaging and meaningful experience.

As you learn about painting and mark-making you’ll tap into your deeper creative self, and learn to trust your instincts, voice, and the creative process.

Cameron will be demonstrating in oils; however, students are welcome to work in acrylics or oils for this workshop.

You Will Learn:

  • How to APPLY paint to create a story
  • Use MARK-MAKING to convey emotion
  • To TRUST your instincts
  • Different ELEMENTS of drawing
  • GESTURAL brushwork techniques

By the end of this workshop, you will feel more confident creating exciting and authentic works of abstract art.
